Cognitive flexibility
Cognitive flexibility is the ability to change perspective, strategy or way of thinking when a situation requires updating.
Definition
Cognitive flexibility allows you to switch between tasks, adapt your strategy to feedback and go beyond one interpretation scheme. It does not mean chaos or a lack of rules, but the ability to modify an approach when the old one no longer works. It is important in learning, problem solving and emotion regulation.

Practice and life
When you get stuck, write down three alternative explanations for the situation and two other strategies. Test one for a short time instead of defending the old plan.
Common misunderstanding
It is a mistake to confuse flexibility with lack of consistency. It is also a mistake to stick to a strategy just because it once worked.
