Withdrawal

Withdrawal is a reduction in contact, activity or involvement, often as a response to stress, anxiety, shame, overload or loss of energy.

Definition

Withdrawal can be a healthy break and a form of protection if it is conscious, temporary and restorative. It can also become a problem when it leads to isolation, loss of support, and avoidance of important issues. The key question is whether withdrawal rebuilds me or gradually shuts me down.

Practice and life

After withdrawing, write down a date for returning to contact: one message, conversation or small action. Regeneration needs a return bridge.

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to judge every withdrawal as a weakness. It is also wrong to call isolation regeneration if it lasts too long and worsens the condition.
