The exposure effect is the tendency to like stimuli we encounter more often.

The exposure effect is the fact that the repeated presence of a stimulus can increase its attractiveness or sense of familiarity. This mechanism helps explain preferences in music, advertising, relationships, and consumer choices. This does not mean, however, that the more commonly seen solution is objectively better; it can only be more easily processed and less alien.
