Authenticity

Authenticity is the congruence between values, identity and way of acting in the world.

Definicja

Authenticity in psychology and philosophy refers to coherence between inner experience, values, expression and action. It does not mean impulsively revealing every thought or lack of tact. In a mature sense, it requires self-awareness, boundaries and responsible honesty. It can support well-being when it reduces the gap between the "mask" and what a person really considers important.

Praktyka i życie

Once a week, assess three areas of your life (work, relationships, health) for consistency with your values and choose one area for correction.

Częste błędne rozumienie

It is a mistake to confuse authenticity with a lack of responsibility for the impact of one's words. "Performing authenticity" often appears, i.e. building the image of a sincere person instead of real coherence.
