Unconscious assumptions are beliefs that are taken for granted even though they have not been consciously tested.

They influence interpretations, choices and reactions because they act as invisible rules. They may be about yourself, other people, money, work, relationships or the possibility of change. They are revealed when a person asks: "why do I assume it has to be this way?"
