Feeling empowered
The sense of agency is the subjective feeling that one's own actions influence events and their consequences.
Definition
In neuroscience and psychology, the meaning of agency concerns the experience of control over one's own actions and their consequences. It does not mean complete control over the world, but recognizing the connection between choice, action and outcome. The sense of agency may weaken due to chronic stress, helplessness or chaos, and is strengthened by small actions with visible feedback.
