Apathy

Apathy is a decrease in motivation, goal-directed activity, interest or emotional expression compared to previous functioning.

Definicja

Apathy may look like indifference, lack of initiative, less spontaneity, or difficulty engaging in activities. It can accompany depression, chronic stress, neurological disorders and other health conditions. It is not the same as laziness. If it appears suddenly, persists for a long time or significantly limits everyday functioning, it should be treated as a signal for specialist consultation.

Praktyka i życie

Go back to minimal activity: a consistent bedtime, a short walk and one micro-activity a day that can be done regardless of your mood. If apathy is severe or long-lasting, consider this practice as a support, not a replacement for diagnosis.

Częste błędne rozumienie

It is a mistake to label yourself as "lazy." A common mistake is waiting for motivation instead of taking small, regular actions.
