Emotional agility

Emotional agility is the ability to notice emotions, name them and choose action consistent with values rather than an automatic reaction.

Definicja

Emotional agility does not mean having control over every emotion or having a positive attitude. It means the ability to be with an emotion without merging with it: a person recognizes what he feels, but does not have to act on the first impulse. This is a practical concept, close to emotion regulation, mindfulness and psychological flexibility.
