Trust

Trust is the willingness to rely on someone, something, or yourself while acknowledging some degree of risk.

Definition

Trust is created by repeatability, consistency, competence, honesty, error recovery and safety experience. It does not mean certainty or lack of boundaries. Healthy trust is proportional to data: it grows with evidence, not just with declarations.

Practice and life

Instead of asking "do I trust?", ask: what evidence of trust already exists and where do I need boundaries or more time?

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to confuse trust with naivety. It is also a mistake to interpret any caution as a lack of love or loyalty.
