Deep work

Deep work is a longer period of concentration without distractions, intended for tasks requiring high cognitive effort.

Definition

Deep work involves consciously limiting stimuli and entering intensive processing mode. It supports the creation, analysis, learning and solving of complex problems. It is not the same as being busy; its value depends on the quality of attention, clarity of purpose and protection against context switching.

Practice and life

Reserve a block of 60-90 minutes for one task. Turn off notifications, prepare materials and write down one sentence: "After this block,..."

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to treat deep work as just sitting at a desk. A common mistake is not having a clearly defined block effect.

Questions for self-reflection

  • Jakiego efektu wymaga ten blok?
  • Co muszę odciąć, żeby naprawdę myśleć?
  • Czy to zadanie wymaga głębi, czy tylko wykonania?
