Goal orientation

Goal orientation is a way of organizing attention, decisions, and effort around a clearly defined outcome or direction.

Definition

Goal orientation helps you maintain direction, choose priorities, and evaluate progress. However, it can become rigid if the goal begins to obscure values, health, relationships, or new data. Mature goal orientation combines clarity of direction with flexibility of strategy.

Practice and life

Next to the goal, write down not only the result, but also the criterion: how will I know that I'm going in the right direction before I reach the end?

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to confuse goal orientation with result obsession. It is also a mistake to act without progress criteria.
