Optimization

Optimization is consciously improving the performance of a system, process or strategy in relation to specific criteria.

Definition

Optimization requires a clear goal, data, constraints and success criteria. It does not mean perfectionism or endless improvement, but seeking a better match between resources and results. Good optimization knows when to stop improving and start working.

Practice and life

Choose one process and determine: what I measure, what I limit and what result will be good enough.

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to optimize without a goal. The second mistake is correcting details that do not affect the most important result.
