Intuition

Intuition is a quick, often difficult to fully explain, recognition or hunch based on prior experience, patterns, and contextual signals.

Definition

Intuition can be useful in areas where a person has experience and has received good feedback. It can also be misleading when it acts under the influence of fear, stereotypes, fresh associations or lack of data. Using intuition reliably means treating it as a hypothesis, not as evidence.

Practice and life

When you have a strong feeling, write it down as a sentence: "My intuition says that..." Next to it, write three possible pieces of information that could confirm or refute it.

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to blindly trust your intuition in new areas. The second mistake is to completely ignore intuitive signals when they result from real experience.
