Direction of action

A direction of action is a consciously defined turn of activity: where the effort is heading and why it is being undertaken.

Definition

A course of action organizes decisions, priorities and effort. It is not yet a complete plan, but it indicates which behaviors bring you closer to your goal and which ones only occupy your attention. A well-defined direction allows you to correct course without having to constantly start over.

Practice and life

Write down one sentence: "For the next 30 days, I am directing my energy towards...". Then list three congruent actions and three distracting actions.

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to confuse direction with the pressure of immediate results. Another mistake is choosing too many directions at once.
