Working memory
Working memory is a system for temporarily storing and processing information needed for a current task.
Definition
Pamięć robocza pozwala utrzymać w umyśle kilka informacji i jednocześnie nimi operować, np. liczyć, porównywać opcje, rozumieć zdanie lub planować kolejny krok. It is limited in capacity, so excess information quickly leads to overload. Good notes, checklists and dividing tasks into smaller parts relieve the burden on working memory.

Practice and life
When dealing with a difficult task, write the elements down on paper instead of keeping them in your head. Then work on only one piece at a time.
Common misunderstanding
It is a mistake to confuse working memory with long-term memory itself. A common mistake is to overload it with too many open threads at the same time.
