Zone of proximal development

The zone of proximal development is the range of tasks that a person cannot yet perform on their own, but can master with appropriate support.

Definicja

The concept comes from the theory of Lev Vygotsky and emphasizes the social dimension of learning. The best development tasks are neither too easy nor extremely difficult: they require support, instruction, modeling or collaboration, but remain within the reach of the learner. In practice, this helps you select challenges without overloading.

Praktyka i życie

Select a skill and divide it into three levels: I can do it on my own, I can do it with help, I can do it with help, but I can't do it yet. Work on the middle level.

Częste błędne rozumienie

It is a mistake to throw yourself at tasks that are too difficult and call it ambition. It is also a mistake to stick to what is already easy.
