Release
Letting go is the conscious reduction of attachment to an emotion, belief, control, role or situation that no longer serves a healthy function.
Definition
Release does not mean forgetting, denial or consent to harm. Rather, it means shifting energy from clinging to choosing a response, grieving, boundary, changing or accepting the facts. In practice, it often requires time, adjustments and a new way of operating.

Practice and life
Write down what you are trying to control despite having no influence. Next to it, write down one thing you could do instead of holding the tension.
Common misunderstanding
It is a mistake to force release before experiencing the emotion. It is also a mistake to confuse letting go with pretending that something didn't matter.
