Critical thinking is the careful evaluation of information, arguments and conclusions according to clear criteria and evidence.

Critical thinking involves analyzing assumptions, evaluating sources, recognizing errors in reasoning, and being willing to correct beliefs. It is needed wherever a decision has consequences. It does not mean cynicism or automatic opposition, but disciplined curiosity.
