Burnout
Burnout is a phenomenon associated with chronic professional stress that has not been effectively managed.
Definition
WHO recognizes burnout as an occupational phenomenon, not a medical disease. It is characterized by a feeling of energy exhaustion, greater mental distance or cynicism towards work, and reduced professional effectiveness. This term should not be applied arbitrarily to every strain of life, although chronic overload outside of work also needs to be taken seriously.

Common misunderstanding
It is a mistake to confuse burnout with laziness. It is also a mistake to ignore the organizational causes of chronic stress.
