Selective attention
Selective attention is the ability to focus on selected information while limiting the influence of irrelevant stimuli.
Definicja
Selective attention allows you to function in a world full of data, conversations, images, sounds and thoughts. It does not mean that other stimuli do not exist, but that the mind gives priority to a particular signal. When selection weakens, one becomes more easily distracted and overwhelmed.

Praktyka i życie
When working, select one information channel: text, sound or conversation. Don't try to read, listen and respond at the same time.
Częste błędne rozumienie
It is a mistake to confuse selective attention with ignoring everything around you. It is also a mistake to expect full concentration without limiting stimuli.
