Task-oriented

Task-oriented is the tendency to organize energy around the completion of a specific task, goal or obligation.

Definition

Tasking helps you act, complete matters and maintain structure. However, it can become an escape from emotions, relationships or meaning if a person treats each tension as a task to be solved. Mature task-orientation combines agency with reflection on whether the task is appropriate.

Practice and life

Before entering task mode, ask: does it really require action, or does it require talking, resting or naming emotions first?

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to treat every difficulty as a task. It is also a mistake to dismiss task-oriented nature as coolness, when it really helps to bring order to the chaos.
