Iteration

Iteration is a repeating cycle of action, evaluation and improvement leading to an increasingly better version of the solution.

Definition

In practice, iteration reduces the pressure of a perfect start. Instead of waiting for the perfect plan, a draft version is created, the effect is checked and the next approach is corrected. Iterativeness is important in learning, design, behavioral therapy, creative work and solving complex problems.

Key ideas

  1. Wersja próbna
  2. Test i korekta
  3. Uczenie przez cykle

Practice and life

Set the first version of the solution as "v0.1". Once done, write down one thing to keep, one thing to remove, and one thing to improve.

Common misunderstanding

It is a mistake to confuse iteration with chaotic improvement of everything at once. A common mistake is the lack of a criterion for assessing the next version.

Questions for self-reflection

  • Co testuję w tej iteracji?
  • Jaki sygnał pokaże, że wersja jest lepsza?
  • Co zmieniam tylko w następnym cyklu?
