Solution functionality

Solution functionality is the degree to which the solution actually removes or reduces a problem in a specific context.

Definition

A solution may sound logical but be dysfunctional if it does not fit the resources, constraints, people or rhythm of life. Functionality checks in action: whether the solution is feasible, durable, measurable and does not create major side effects. That's why good solutions require a test, not just a convincing theory.

Practice and life

For the selected solution, write down the action criteria: how will I know if it works, how many resources it requires and what side effects it may cause.

Common misunderstanding

It's a mistake to confuse an elegant idea with a working solution. It is also a mistake to ignore the context in which the solution is to be used.
