Co-regulation

Co-regulation is the process in which the presence, tone, rhythm, reactions and safety of another person help regulate arousal and emotions.

Definicja

Co-regulation is particularly important in child development, but it also occurs in adult relationships. A calm, responsive presence can help the nervous system recover from alarm. It does not mean dependence or an obligation to regulate the other person at all costs; healthy co-regulation requires boundaries and reciprocity.
